Lessons Learned from Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter

ATDPOISE | Continuing and Professional Learning hosted 70 guests at the 2nd Annual Adult Training and Development Networking Dinner on May 2 at the Intercontinental Hotel.

The Networking Dinner is an opportunity for our students of the program, both current and graduated, to renew connections with classmates and to create linkages with new colleagues.

Dr. Saul Carliner, e-Learning Fellow at Concordia University as well as an Associate Professor and Director of its Education Doctoral Program, was our featured speaker. Although workplace learning advocates promote the value of learning from social media like Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter, few talk about what they actually learned from it.  So what can professionals learn from these channels? Professor Carliner spoke about these various social media platforms and shared some of the professional, cultural, and personal lessons he has learned.

Among the group of attendees were graduates of our Adult Training and Development Certificate Program, faculty of the program, current students and their colleagues from various industry professions.
