Program Information, Fees & Policies

The Program

  • There are 5 modules and the practicum submission in the Certificate program. We would prefer you to attend module 1 first and module 5 last; however, given our long waiting lists this may not be possible. Otherwise, modules 2, 3, 4 may be taken out of order.
  • We have developed our program to suit the needs of adult learners and working professionals. You will see the modules are arranged in clusters of 3 full in-class weekdays with module 2 held over a weekend.
  • Participants must complete all 5 modules within a 2 year period in order to be entitled to submit a practicum and be eligible to receive the certificate status.
  • The flyer for this program can be viewed here (pdf format)

The Practicum

  • The completed practicum component must be submitted within 6 months after the last module that has been completed.
  • Extensions for the practicum due date will not be considered unless there is a medical reason. One month's notice with the accompanying medical certificate is required to request an extension to the practicum due date.
  • The practicum fee must be paid when the practicum proposal is submitted.

Program Fees + Payment

  • The Module fee is $825.00 per module.  This includes the cost of materials and the non-refundable application processing fee of $100.00.
  • Practicum submission fee is $300.00.
  • Complete program fee - Modules 1 through 5 and the practicum submission - is $4,425.00 per person, representing $825.00 per program module and the $300.00 practicum submission fee.

Attendance Policy

The OISE Certificate in Adult Training & Development is an experientially based program that involves working in groups, and compresses a considerable amount of information into a short timeframe.

You must attend all three days of each module to be eligible for your Certificate in Adult Training & Development. If you learn in advance that this will not be possible, please contact the program manager to re-book the affected module at a more suitable time. If an emergency arises during your attendance at a module, please inform the facilitator and/or the program manager as soon as possible. The facilitator will determine whether it is feasible for you to re-enter the module, attend on a later date, or whether some form of alternate assignment is feasible.

If you miss or cannot attend one full day of a module you must re-book into another module at your own cost. Medical certificates will be accepted.

Cancellation Policy

In order to cancel registration in a single module, we must receive written notification no later than two weeks, ten business days, prior to the start date of the program module you are cancelling.

Failure to provide sufficient notice of cancellation will result in no refund.

Refunds will be issued in accordance with University of Toronto payment policy less the $100.00 non-refundable application processing fee.

Send all cancellation requests to: continuinged@oise.utoronto.ca
